Narayanganj’s Radiant Shipyard has accomplished a significant feat by successfully building Bangladesh’s inaugural indigenous vessel equipped to transport Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). The vessel, named ‘Omera Princess,’ was officially handed over to Omera Petroleum Limited and Mobil Jamuna Limited during a ceremony held at the shipyard in Rupganj’s Daudpur.
The design of the vessel, valued at Tk 300 million, was meticulously crafted by the proficient naval architects of Radiant Marine Design and Services. Speaking at the ceremony, Managing Director Alauddin emphasized the groundbreaking capabilities of the ‘Omera Princess.’ This innovative ship not only enhances the transshipment of liquid gas across the nation but also redefines accessibility by being navigable in rivers, reaching even the most remote areas.

With a length of 58.60 meters, width of 10.20 meters, and a shallow water draft of 3.50 meters, the ship can expertly traverse various waterways. Constructed within a remarkable span of nine months, it boasts a substantial capacity of transporting 300 metric tonnes of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).
Radiant Shipyard’s trailblazing journey includes the construction of nine diverse vessels, including coastal oil tankers, cruise ships, and fishing trawlers. This achievement underscores the shipyard’s commitment to advancing the maritime industry within the country.
